If you’re anything like me, the rapid rise of AI has been both exciting and a little overwhelming. I’m personally all in on embracing AI, but I’m also careful not to let it replace the human touch that makes my business unique.

I'm a big believer in everything being about balance. Yes, AI is amazing for streamlining processes and helping with tasks that would otherwise be time-consuming, but it’s important to remember that it should lean on your expertise, not replace it entirely.

For small businesses, AI tools can be a game-changer when it comes to website management, especially for tasks like brainstorming, content creation, and website analytics. If you’re aiming to stay ahead of the curve in 2025, here are some AI-powered tools that can truly make a difference for your website management, without sacrificing your personal touch.

1. AI-Powered SEO Tools

If you’ve spent any time learning about SEO (and I hope you have), you know how much of a time drain it can be. From keyword research to content optimisation, there’s a lot to keep track of. But AI can help you speed up your SEO efforts and make smarter decisions.

Tool to try: Jarvis (Now Jasper AI)

Jasper AI is one of the most popular AI tools out there for content creators, and it’s especially great for SEO. With its ability to generate long-form content, optimise keyword usage, and suggest related topics, it can cut down on the time you spend brainstorming and writing. However, a word of caution: Jasper is most effective when you provide it with a clear direction (like any AI tool). Don’t rely on it for your final website copy (me and Google will know!), but use it to streamline your process.

What it does:

  • Keyword research and optimisation suggestions

  • Content generation to help you rank for more keywords

  • Blog topic ideation (great for inspiration!)

How it benefits small businesses:

SEO can be complex, but with tools like Jasper, you can simplify it and make sure your content is ranking well without spending hours on research and writing. Just be sure to add your personal touch to the final product, as your audience will appreciate your unique voice and insights.

2. AI-Powered Content Creation

While AI is excellent for generating content ideas and fine-tuning your drafts, it’s not a replacement for your authentic brand voice. Think of AI as your personal brainstorming assistant, not your copywriter.

Tool to try: Copy.ai

Copy.ai is another content creation tool that focuses on helping you generate various types of website copy, including product descriptions, blog posts, and landing page content. It’s perfect when you need help getting started or fine-tuning ideas, but don’t expect it to replace your creativity.

What it does:

  • Generates website copy based on your input

  • Helps with blog post ideas, headlines, and descriptions

  • Provides rewrites to improve clarity and flow

How it benefits small businesses:

If you’re a small business owner with limited time, Copy.ai can help you create a rough draft quickly. It’s not about replacing your work; it’s about saving you time and energy so you can focus on other areas of the business that need your attention.

3. AI for Website Analytics

Understanding how visitors interact with your website is crucial for making informed decisions about your content, design, and user experience. AI-powered analytics tools can make this process far easier, delivering insights you might have missed otherwise.

Tool to try: Google Analytics 4 with AI Insights

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) has introduced AI-powered features that can help you interpret your website data more effectively. It uses machine learning to identify trends and patterns, making it easier to understand your users’ behaviour without sifting through endless reports.

What it does:

  • Provides AI-driven insights into user behaviour

  • Tracks conversions and goals

  • Predicts future trends based on data

How it benefits small businesses:

Google Analytics 4’s AI capabilities allow you to make data-driven decisions without being overwhelmed by raw numbers. By using AI to predict user behavior, you can fine-tune your website and make it easier for visitors to take action, whether that’s making a purchase or signing up for your newsletter.

4. AI for Personalising User Experience

One of the biggest advantages of using AI is its ability to personalise the user experience. AI can analyse user data and help you tailor content and offerings to individual visitors. This makes your website feel much more personal and can lead to higher conversion rates.

Tool to try: OptinMonster

OptinMonster is an AI-powered tool that helps you create personalised pop-ups, opt-ins, and offers based on user behaviour. It can target visitors based on their actions (e.g., if they’re about to leave your site, offer them a discount), making it easier to guide them toward conversions.

What it does:

  • Personalises website pop-ups and opt-ins based on user behaviour

  • Tracks user engagement to trigger relevant offers

  • Increases conversion rates by offering targeted content

How it benefits small businesses:

By personalising the user experience, you can increase your chances of converting visitors into customers. AI tools like OptinMonster take the guesswork out of this process, helping you deliver the right message to the right person at the right time.

5. AI for Website Design

Designing a website can be overwhelming, especially if you’re not a design expert. AI-powered design tools can help you create a beautiful, functional website with minimal effort.

Now it might seem counterintuitive for me (a website designer) to be promoting website design tools out there. As per all the examples in this blog, I do not believe AI can or should create the finished product for you, but it's a great place to start. If you're brand new to launching a business, you likely don't have the funds to be able to invest in a quality website. So an AI generated one, whilst generic, could do the job to get you started. Then when you're serious about growing your business, you can come back to me.

Tool to try: Wix ADI and Squarespace Blueprint AI

Both Wix and Squarespace have AI tools that automatically generates a website design based on your preferences. It asks you a few questions about your business, and then creates a 'custom' design for you (I use the term 'custom' loosely here, as the reality is they're just a random selection of the different templates they offer).

What it does:

  • AI-powered website builder that creates a personalised design

  • Helps you design visually appealing websites without needing design skills

  • Provides design suggestions based on your brand and business

How it benefits small businesses:

These can be a lifesaver for small business owners who want a website but don’t have the time or skills to design one themselves. It’s quick, easy, and can be customised to fit your brand identity. Plus, it saves you the cost of hiring a professional designer if you’re just starting out.

Conclusion: Lean on AI website management tools in your small business, but don't let it take over your brand

AI can be an incredibly powerful tool for website management, but it’s important to use it wisely. Think of it as your partner, not your replacement. By using AI tools for SEO, content creation, analytics, user personalisation, and even design, you can save time, improve efficiency, and make smarter decisions for your business. But always remember, the heart of your business is you, and your personal touch is what will set you apart from the competition.

So, embrace AI where it makes sense, but don’t rely on it for everything. Your customers will appreciate the authenticity and creativity you bring to the table.
